Management of Abnormal Pap Smear

Pap smears are done to text for cervical cancer. During this procedure, a doctor will use a swab to gently scrape off cells on the cervix. This is then sent to a lab to check for cancerous cells. Most of the time, these tests show that everything is completely fine. However, some results can come back abnormal. At Dr. Myrna M. Ortega MD & Dr. Renato O. Flores MD, we perform these exams as well as helping with the management of abnormal pap smears. If you end up with an abnormal result, our doctors will tell you your next steps. We know that medical terms and processes can be confusing and intimidating, so we offer compassionate guidance and comprehensive advice to help you understand your options. No matter what the cause was, our doctors will help with the management of your results and get you back to normal health again.
